About Sarah MillerSarah started her professional recording career at the age of seventeen when she recorded her first session as a backing vocalist for the Climax Blues Band on their re-release of hit single ‘Couldn’t Get it Right’’. Having caught the bug, she joined her first band ‘The Ephraim Lewis Experience’ (signed to Chrysalis) a few months later, extensively touring the UK. Throughout the years, Sarah has appeared with several function bands, touring the UK and Europe, meanwhile developing her career as a lecturer in Music and Drama at Newcastle under Lyme College. Sarah recorded her first original album in 2001, ‘Seven Days Too Late’ which received excellent reviews. She is currently a backing vocalist for Tony Christie and her recent recording credits include a featured vocal on the Robbie Williams track ‘Break America’ (Chrysalis). Sarah’s musical influences include Joni Mitchell, Billie Holiday, Kate Bush, Steely Dan, James Taylor, Chrissie Hynde, Ella Fitzgerald and Patti Cathcart. |
